Today, I’m going to share a twist on one of my favorite dishes: Baked Rigatoni. If you love marinara, pasta, cheese, and meat then you will love this dish.
Here we go…
Everything was purchased on the cheap at Aldi’s. If you have one near you, stop by. You can’t beat the deals there and everything tastes great!
Ingredients: (picture shows olives. However, I did not use them in this dish)
1.5 lbs of ground meat (your choice but I use ground chuck)
2 – 28 ounce cans of crushed tomatoes
2 capfuls of Tastefully Simple’s Mama Mia Marinara mix
1 medium onion
2 cups shredded Italian cheese
1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese
1 15 ounce container of ricotta
1 lb rigatoni
2 Tbs olive oil
Let’s get started…
Preheat your oven to 350
Chop your onion up.
Add olive oil to a pan and sautee the onion.
Next, add your meat.
Cook it up until browned.
Drain the grease.
(Optional) In a separate pan, cook up some sausage.
Once these are done, I will cut them up into chunks and add to the baking dish.
In a bowl, combine 1.5 cups of italian cheese, park cheese, ricotta, and egg. Mix together.
(Not pictures) cook your pasta until ALMOST al dente. It’s going to cook further in the oven. Once pasta is cooked, you will be adding to this bowl.
Back to the pan with the meat. Add 2 can 28 ounces each of crushed tomatoes and 2 capfuls of the mama mia marinara.
That sauce is so yummy.
Add a couple ladles of sauce to the pasta and mix.
Layer in a baking dish.
(not pictured) If you made the sausage and it’s been cut up, add now then layer with the rest of the sauce and you should have a half a cup of italian cheese left, put on top. Bake in oven for a half an hour and you will get this yumminess back.
Plate up and enjoy!
